A country ah-fair
We spent Saturday at the fair and had a really good time, but my goodness, it's not a cheap event! (Not that I'm cheap or anything??)

The kids enjoyed the animal barn and petting zoo and I just adored some very pretty geese they had there. I so want one, but Andy said no!

(But I thought a couple of them would make such cute pets! Outside of course!)
The kids enjoyed the camel ride...

Then we ended the evening with an hour of Alan Jackson and his guitar! Fabulous show!

It Depends on Whose Hands it's in.
A basketball in my hands is worth about $19.
A basketball in Michael Jordan's hands is worth about $33 million.
It depends whose hands it's in.
A baseball in my hands is worth about $6.
A baseball in Mark McGuire's hands is worth $19 million.
It depends on whose hands it's in.
A tennis racket is useless in my hands.
A tennis racket in Venus Williams' hands is a championship winning.
It depends whose hands it's in.
A rod in my hands will keep away a wild animal.
A rod in Moses' hands will part the mighty sea.
It depends whose hands it's in.
A sling shot in my hands is a kid's toy
A sling shot in David's hand is a mighty weapon.
It depends whose hands it's in.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in my hands is a couple of fish sandwiches.
Two fish and 5 loaves of bread in God's hands will feed thousands.
It depends whose hands it's in.
Nails in my hands might produce a birdhouse.
Nails in Jesus Christ's hands will
produce salvation for the entire world.
It depends whose hands it's in.
As you see now it depends whose hands it's in.
So put your concerns, your worries, your fears, your hopes, your dreams,
your families and your relationships in God's hands because...
It depends whose hands it's in.
This message is now in your hands.
What will YOU do with it?
It Depends on WHO'S Hands it's in!!

Family Visits, Shopping and Devon is 13!
So, we went to visit family this weekend in Connecticut and had a really nice time. Spent lots of money on school clothes and supplies and got to visit malls and stores we don't have here near to home. We also had a small celebration for Devon's 13th birthday as well! 13, my GOD!!!!
We stayed with my Aunt Phyllis and her husband Ed who now live in an apartment connected to their youngest daughter's house. While we were there it occured to me what a great story teller my Aunt is! She is such a hoot to listen too and I realized how much I enjoyed listening to her tell stories. How animated she gets and how she tells them with such detail. I noticed for the first time in years how everyone listens to her, no one says a word until she is done. Most of the time she can make you laugh too. She usually ends up laughing through them as well and she's got the greatest laugh. Her whole face lights up and her body practically bounces. My Uncle Bobby is like that too, her brother.
Phyllis is 73 this year and her husband will be 80 in October and they are doing very well for their ages. They both still work part time and are planning a trip to Yellowstone Park courtesy of their oldest son Michael.
I'd forgotten how much I enjoy my Aunt Phyllis. I spent many summers with them when I was growing up and she's always been one to stay in touch, visit and always welcomes you to her home. My family and I always made sure to stop in and visit her whenever we went to Florida and I have to make a point to visit her more often now that they are back closer to home!

Aunt Phyllis and Uncle Ed.

Autumn is nearly upon us
I can't believe August is half gone! As much as I dislike the humidity we've had this summer, I kind of hate to see the summer weather go! I do love fall though, my favorite time of year! I love to see the trees changing color, there are actually a few maples around here that are already changing colors!!
I'm planning to tour the middle to southern part of the state this fall to get some pictures. Vermont is known for it's stunning foliage and I want to get some pics of places I haven't been before! I'll be sure to share.
Spent the afternoon out to the lake on Monday and the kids had a good time in the water and Devon trying her hand at "water skiing" again. She hasn't done that in almost four years, but she did a good job!

It made me a little nervous every time she fell down though! I kept yelling to the driver of the boat, "STOP, STOP!!!" She loved it though!
Then the day ended with a gorgeous sunset!

Two more days of work and then off to go school shopping and visit family.
Hope everyone has a great rest of the week!

So
I must have something to blog about tonight, but I sit here and can't think of a darn thing!
I guess this life is quiet at the moment and that is a good thing, a wonderful thing actually.
I need to go to bed early tonight and actually get some sleep, that has been eluding me for the last few nights and I am not sure why.
The kids are at Mom's for a fews days and I work the next three and then we are off to the big city to school shop and see some relatives I haven't seen in a while.
I can't believe school is nearly upon us once again, another summer nearly gone.
Well, hopefully I'll have something more exciting or interesting to blog about next time!

Back to the land
So, I've been thinking alot about just living "crunchy." Meaning, kinda hippyish, you know, long skirts, braided hair, bandanas, lots of flowers in the yard and cooking on a wood stove. It just seems like the right thing to do, will I? Doubtful, but as time moves on and things become more expensive, oil, gas, food, etc, it may be the way to go.
I visited a friend today that lives in a nearby town, well known for it's "hippie's." I've always kind of made fun of them, but as I passed by today and looked around I thought, kind of a neat, simple way to live.
Simple, I guess that is what I'm searching for...

Summer Camp
Well, summer camp seems to have had an awesome effect on my oldest daughter, soon to be 13 here in a few weeks. Lately she has just been almost unbearable, the attitude, the moodiness the everything! I can't even look at her at times and she's pouting, stomping her feet just being plain miserable!
So, she went off to summer camp this past week, returned on Friday with a whole NEW disposition and quite a pleasant one too I must add! She gave me a kiss and a hug and told me all about her experiences this year, we looked at her pictures, she ate dinner with us without complaining about it and it was just like a breath of fresh air! I think I should send her to camp more often!
She's attended this local 4H camp for the past 7 years and wants to attend the teen week next summer so she learn to become a jr. counselor. Once she does that then she would be able to go the whole summer free of charge!
Let's see, by then she'll be going on 15 and sending her for the summer sounds like a pretty darn good idea!!!
Speaking of her turning 13, I put together another little slide show of her past 13 years.
I can't believe it's been almost 13 years!

July is over and getting older
Well, I'm thinking, "WOW!" July is all done, over, ended. It's the first of August and the heat isn't too bad. YAHOO!!! I hope it stays nice, but the humidity stays far away, til the end of the month and then it's good to go.
Wow, then fall will be upon us once again. My 35th birthday will be around the corner. 35 years, doesn't seem like I'm that old. Not that 35 is old, but it's just strange to me that I'm approaching 40, 40 years old, now to me, that's getting old, your getting beyond that middle age thing. Turning 30 never bothered me, not at all actually, but 40, that may be another story!
Andy will be 45 on Wednesday. He doesn't look 45 or at least to me he doesn't. Says he doesn't feel it except for when his knees start to ache and his back! LOL My knees and back ache once in a while too so I guess it has nothing to do with being 45!! :-)
I'm thinking about dressing up this year for Halloween too. Maybe do the whole peter pan theme. I could make Andy be Peter Pan, but maybe Captain Hook would fit him better!
I'll keep you posted on all that.
Guess that is all for now.
