Annoying People
with really BAD jobs...
So my phone rings this afternoon, caller ID says NO NAME NO NUMBER, but I answered it anyhow, first mistake... Then, I had to say hello twice before anyone responded and then this woman blurts out, "I'm calling about your vehicle, your extended warranty which covers...blah blah blah"
The nameless woman calling, without even telling me who she is or where she is calling from or for who, proceeds to ramble off this extended warranty on my vehicle which is six years old now and has nearly a 100,000 miles on it. She takes a breath and continues to name the make of my car and would I like to purchase this warranty which will cover me up to a 100,000 miles, blah blah blah.
When I finally had a chance to speak I told her my car was very close to a 100,000 miles already so why would I want to buy this coverage??
She quickly tells me that is ok, they can extend that as well.
Ok, you just told me it was only good for a 100,000 miles.
No, you can purchase it as long as your car, currently, is under a 100,000 miles.
Ok.
Then she asks for the exact mileage and model and tells me for a $200 deposit today and 11 payments of $153 each I can have a bumper to bumper warranty on a car that has almost a 100,000 miles on it!
So, I slowed her down a bit, told her I wasn't sure I wanted to invest that much money in something with so many miles and further more I may be trading anyway...
Well, that's OK! You can stop your policy at any time and be reimbursed, (for some amount, can't even remember now what she said.)
So, I'm trying to think this over as she's asking me for my credit card or checking account info.
I'm like, wait a minute, I don't even know who these people are, she never mentioned a company name, her name, nothing. I told her I needed to think about it and have them send me something in the mail.
WELL! she says, DIDN'T YOU RECIEVE YOUR FINAL NOTICE IN THE MAIL CONCERNING YOUR COVERAGE? HOW COME YOU NEVER SENT IT BACK OR CALLED US. THIS IS YOUR LAST CHANCE TO DO THIS. YOU HAVE A VEHICLE WITH HIGH MILEAGE, AVERAGE COST OF REPAIRS IS OVER $1700, BLAH BLAH BLAH
So, I slow her down again, as about this time I'm getting pretty annoyed, talk about pushy! So I tell her I don't recall getting anything in the mail, I have no idea what company this is or who she is.
So, she puts me through to someone named Amy. I get the same speil. So, I simply tell her, I need more time to think this over and I'm not giving out any financial info over the phone. I also tell her it sounds like a good idea to have this as I know the cost of repairs can be staggering, but right now, today, this VERY minute, it's not something I could do, financially or otherwise and would also like to discuss it with my husband first and that I may trade vehicles so what would be the point?
WELL, CAN'T YOU CELL HIM AND TALK TO HIM ABOUT IT AND I'LL HOLD AND I'M NOT LOOKING TO SCAM YOU OUT OF MONEY THROUGH YOUR ACCOUNTS THERE ARE CALL BACK NUMBERS FOR THIS, IT'S THE LAW. (and she said some other stuff about this that I can't remember now.)
AH NO WAY LADY!
OMG, I could NOT believe how pushy these people were.
Then she says to me, WELL, IF YOU CAN'T AFFORD THE $200 D0WN TODAY FOR THE EXTENDED WARRANTY THEN HOW CAN YOU AFFORD TO TRADE?
That's when I hung the phone up!
Unreal...

MWA HA HA HA! They's why I do not pick up the phone unless I recognize the name/number. If it says "Unavailable", I let the answering machine get it!

Your account was so funny to read and so true as to how these tele-marketing people are. They want to hurry you into spending your money. My only word of advice is to say "Oh no,thank you so very much" right over their voice and just hang up. This way you were not rude, but did get rid of them quickly. You know from the start you don't want to buy anything for them.
